Bogor, March 12, 2018, On behalf of PT. CERIndonesia, Ari Suharto participated the second run of the Economics of Climate Change Adaptation (ECCA) training programme which took place between 26 February and 9 March 2018, at the Sukosol hotel in Bangkok, Thailand. Organized by AIT RRC.AP with partner agencies such as USAID and UNDP the training was attended by 23 participants from 17 countries in Asia including Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Laos PDR, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, Mongolia, Nepal, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand and Vietnam. Participants are coming from government officers, NGOs and research institutes around Asia.

Discussions and presentations from experts were mainly about the key aspects to project proposal development and the importance of economic analysis in climate change project proposals, with insights on sector economic analysis, particularly on agriculture sector. Participants had been working simultaneously on their project ideas with the support of the trainers. First week was focused on learning the basic proposal development for climate change projects and where economic analysis feeds into it, while second week was focused on necessary steps in conducting a cost benefit analysis (CBA) of different adaptation options.
