Trump Announced that the US is Out from the Paris Agreement

Bogor, June 5, 2017

US President, Donald Trump announced on Thursday that the United States will come out from the Paris Climate Agreement. Previously, the Paris Agreement was approved by the United States, signed by Barack Obama.

Speaking from Rose Garden in the White House, Trump said it would immediately start talks to negotiate or create the better new treaties for the people of the United States.

"We're going out", Trump said, but added that he would "ask the negotiator to pursue the new conditions for a fair deal", he said. "The Paris Climate Agreement is the latest example where America entered into agreements that harm American interests", Trump said. "Starting today, America will stop the implementation of the non-binding agreement", he said.

White House spokesman Sean Spicer said the move was an important cancellation of Obama-era policies, satisfying Republican supporters but angering environmentalists and American allies.
